As a pet care advocate it is always important to ask ourselves, “Is the groom I’m doing today in the best interest for me, the client, or the pet itself?” We all love this industry because we love helping pets, but are we truly focused on the pet? We are all influenced by factors that can easily skew that goal:
- Client wants
- Time
- Cost of products
- Our abilities
- What looks cute
Understanding the science of the hair and skin, and knowing the importance of the skin (the largest organ of the body), should govern what we do. Otherwise, we can easily get lost in our own priorities.
